In life there are a variety of virtues and vices that you will encounter. You will encounter them as soon as you are aware of choices. What are Virtues and Vices?
- Virtue – a behavior that produces good for you primarily (e.g. Patience)
- Vice – a behavior that produces bad for you primarily (e.g. Impatience)
Here we will examine some of the most common virtues and vices. Then we will provide practices that you can do to gain and improve the virtues and reduce and maybe lose the vices. It’s important to note that many times there are behaviors that are expressions of the virtues or vices and are not virtues or vices in of themselves. So it is important to understand the underlying virtues or vices. You are doing these things for a reason so part of changing your behavior will be to look for what is driving or motivating you in those virtues or vices.
