There are a variety of types of safety to consider in life. However there are some general notions related to safety to be aware of and consider that apply to all of life.
There are two types of ways to deal with the problems in life that you will have to deal with.
- Plan/Control – Control can come in two varieties. You can control what actions you take or the situations you are in.
- Internal Control – Controlling your own actions in all its varieties is what you have the most control over. The varieties of actions are the kind you generally take but also how you interact and how you react as well. If you are controlling your own actions and not others people will see you more positively. It shows responsibility and accountability.
- External Control – Controlling situations makes people see you as a control freak as you are trying to control others through various means. People will not take kindly to that.
- Adapt – Adapting is what must be done when you are not able to plan your way out of future problems. Adapting is what happens when you have problems in the present. You must “figure it out”. Having the attitude of figuring things out will be very powerful for you.
Being able to gain a high level mastery of both of these skills will help you greatly be able to gain, maintain, and regain safety. If you only plan/control or adapt, then you will be fighting greatly to have safety in life with little hope of having much of it.
